Blacksmith Shop Dedication
Dubuque, Iowa – April 2009— The new blacksmith shop at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium was dedicated Saturday, April 25, 2009.
This blacksmith shop was built by Dubuque County Historical Society volunteers and spearheaded by National Rivers Hall of Fame board member and volunteer Milt Avenarius.
All of the design, labor and materials to build the shop were donated. The demonstration tools for this working blacksmith shop were also donated.
