Part-time Tour Guides Wanted

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium is looking for enthusiastic individuals to deliver the story of  the Mighty Mississippi to students visiting the museum.  A background working with students or youth is desirable.
 
This is a seasonal part-time position which involves working with school groups as a museum tour guide  several weekday mornings during the spring and fall field trip season. We will have a need for guides and docents at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium as well as at the Mathias Ham House.

Here’s how you can help:

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

Greeters: Help us meet and greet the public who come to the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, Ham House, Ryan House, and Old Jail.

Docent/Educator: Interpret exhibits to enhance visitors’ experiences.

Special Events: Help us put on some of our very successful events like the July 4th Ice Cream Social, Taste of Dubuque, and Ice Fest.

Archives: Help sort historic photographs and inventory museum collections.

Mailings: A social, necessary and easy task. Expect to talk, nibble, and socialize while you stuff envelopes.

No experience required! We will provide any necessary training — just bring your smile and a helpful attitude!
